New patterns!

Well, not *new*, exactly.  They were new in early July, when I actually bought them, but then I procrastinated on purchasing the domain and beginning this blog.

Vintage patterns and buttons

The patterns in question are New York Patterns 1057 (the cute day-dress with gathered shoulders) and Simplicity 1020, which, if I recall correctly, is from 1945, and is the oldest pattern in my personal collection.  I’ve already got a very period-inappropriate but thematically-relevant green silk print for the tie-top and skirt, and I’m searching for an appropriate coordinating solid for the pleated shorts.

I also acquired these fantastic buttons, deadstock from a Northern Michigan notions shop.  The black and white shank buttons are destined for another 50’s dress pattern, but what do I do with those great Mod green ones?
