Holy break, Batman!
I’ll be completely honest. I had such lofty goals for this blog last August, and then I just never got my life together to take all the photos I’d have needed to update regularly. That’s still something that needs to happen, but fortunately for you (and me!) I don’t just wear my own vintage and makes all the time! Sometimes, I get to wear other people’s vintage too!
A few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure to model for Kira at Dead Girls’ Vintage. I met Kira at one of Vaudezilla’s quarterly craft-and-vintage fairs (You can read a fabulous interview between other vendors Megan of Retrofitting Vintage and Sarah Haley Design & Millinery on Megan’s blog too!). The thing I really enjoyed about my experience shooting with Kira is that she has an impeccable knack for styling. Every piece we shot for her shop was chosen to compliment my personal aesthetic and glammed up with a genius array of accessories.
We shot in her apartment/studio space, which was basically everything I’ve ever dreamed of for my own life. bookshelves stuffed with vintage patterns crammed next to a drafting table draped with fabrics, next to dressmakers’ dummies, and all the walls dripping with vintage prints and shadowboxes. And, I’ll be honest, this was one of the easiest photoshoots I’ve ever done. I was instantly at ease the entire time, and the resulting images are fantastic! Take a look for yourself:
Believe it or not, there are more where these photos come from! I’ll be doing a part 2 to showcase the rest of the looks I modeled that day! And, as if I need to say it, if any of these garments are something you want to put in your closet, they can all be found at Dead Girls’ Vintage on Etsy!
